It Was All Her is a new theatre production by Danil Chashchin, based on the play by Russian playwright Andrey Ivanov. This romantic tragedy explores themes that resonate deeply: broken trust, family isolation, and the inability to speak openly. At its core lies the story of a mother and her son – told without pathos, but with precise emotional tension.

The plot follows a mother’s desperate attempt to reconnect with her withdrawn teenage son. With no other way to reach him, she creates a fake profile of a girl and begins messaging him. Their virtual dialogue becomes the only form of communication, and soon they begin to live in two parallel realities – one marked by alienation, the other by a closeness they lack in real life.

When the son falls in love with the online persona, unaware of who is behind it, the situation spirals out of control. Illusions collapse, truths emerge, and both must face the consequences. The play offers no easy answers, but leaves the audience with powerful questions: What does it mean to be present? How do we speak about love? And can we reclaim what feels lost?
