Jurmala is a city in Latvia, the largest resort on the shore of the Gulf of Riga. Population – 51 158 people (2023). The distance from the centre of Jūrmala to the centre of Riga is 25 km.

At the end of July and beginning of August, the traditional Jurmala Festival takes place in the city. It is worth visiting the colourful opening ceremony, which is traditionally accompanied by performances by stars of the music scene.

If you decide to celebrate the winter holidays in Jurmala, you should go to the concerts of the Christmas Festival. It starts in mid-December and ends traditionally after the seventh of January. At this time in the city perform several dozen musicians of all kinds. At Christmas time, the number of street dancers, magicians and animators increases, and the main tourist street starts to host a fair.
