Dzintari Concert Hall (Latvian: Dzintaru koncertzāle) is a concert complex located in Jurmala, widely known in Latvia as a venue for a number of festivals and other spectacular events. For almost 70 years, it has been hosting performances of famous artists every summer.
The Dzintari Concert Hall was built in 1936. Famous Latvian actors and international stars such as J. Carreras, M. Caballe, pianists G. Ginzburg, G. Neuhaus, violinists I. Bezrodny, L. Kogan, as well as R. Pauls, I. Galante, the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra and others have performed here.
In 2004-2006, the Dzintari Concert Hall was reconstructed, during which the park around it was expanded and landscaped, the stage and auditorium were reconstructed, and the territory was improved.
The annual jazz and classical music festivals, comedy festivals and shows, the colourful ballet festival “Ballet Stars in Jurmala”, the young performers’ competition “New Wave” and the international classical music festival Summertime have become a tradition at Dzintari.
In a season, the audience of Dzintari Concert Hall enjoys about 100 concerts! The programme is tailored to all tastes and ages. All the most diverse genres are represented – from folklore and classical to rock and pop music.
